Outdoor Coaching
My passion for coaching blends sublimely with my love of the outdoors. Ever since I was a teenager I’ve been exploring the hills of the Peak District and beyond.
I think I’ve always known being in the fresh air, moving your body, is good for your physical and mental health. It’s so joyful to share this space with coaching clients.
Outlined below are some of the benefits you get from coaching in the natural environment.
Benefits of Outdoor Coaching
Outdoor life coaching has several benefits, such as:
- Increased physical activity and exposure to nature, which can improve overall health and well-being.
- A change of scenery can provide a fresh perspective and new insights.
- Being in nature can reduce your stress and improve your mood.
- The use of nature-based activities and exercises can help you connect with your creative side, emotions and overcome challenges.
- Outdoor coaching sessions can foster a sense of adventure and a sense of accomplishment, which can boost self-confidence.
- It can help you to connect with your inner self and gain clarity on your goals and purpose.
- It can also provide a safe and comfortable space for you to share your thoughts and feelings.

Coaching outdoors is a wonderful way to work through your thoughts and challenges. The vast space you can feel by looking out across a valley or as you pause to admire how far you’ve come help to unlock negative thoughts and see solutions clearly. Our understanding can be broadened and deepened by immersing our selves in the natural world.
Being indoors or having space held for you online doesn’t work for everyone. I’m so pleased I can offer all three approaches – online, in-person indoors and in-person outdoors.
With outdoor coaching the process and act of moving side by side can be tremendously freeing. I always emphasise that coaching with me is confidential and non-judgmental, but what I’ve found for some people is that removing the face-to-face element can allow words to flow and thoughts to tumble out more readily.
If you are local to me, or ready to invest in the time to reach me, I’d love to share my passion for the outdoors with the focus all on you. I am a qualified Hill & Moorland Leader, and have spent the last 12 years exploring the hills, moorlands and paths around Glossop. Let’s just say you are in safe and knowledgeable hands! I can tailor my coaching packages to allow longer sessions, for example, two back to back Focus sessions, or bespoke durations to suit your needs. The main aim is that time is unhurried as we move together.
I’d love to hear if how you incorporate time outside into your days and weeks. The benefits of time spent outside, even without a coach alongside you, are immense. Leave a comment below.
Adopting better habits and thought patterns can help us accomplish far more than we feel is possible. Life coaching conversations can help you make those positive changes. You have the space and time to explore what keeps you stuck, unfulfilled and not living aligned to your values. If this sounds like something you’d like to look into take a look at the Services I offer or get in touch to arrange an initial free and informal chat.
